INDOPOSCO.ID – The investigation into the train collision at Bekasi Station is ongoing, with police questioning additional witnesses from PT KAI’s Jakarta Operational Region (Daop) 1 on Monday (May 4, 2026).
Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, confirmed the development, noting that the questioning is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. local time.
“Examinations of additional witnesses from Daop 1 will be conducted at the Daop 1 office in Manggarai,” Budi Hermanto said in Jakarta on Monday.
At the same time, police have also scheduled further questioning of additional witnesses related to the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station. Those summoned include representatives from an online taxi operator as well as government agencies.
“Questioning of representatives from Green Taxi, the Public Works Agency, the Spatial Planning Agency, and the Directorate General of Railways will be conducted at Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters,” Budi added.
As of May 3–4, Jakarta Metropolitan Police have questioned a total of 31 witnesses in connection with the train accident involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek train, a Commuter Line KRL, and an online taxi at Bekasi Timur Station.
Earlier data showed that 24 individuals had been questioned over the three-day period from April 28 to 30, 2026.
“Investigators have examined 24 individuals, and seven others are currently undergoing questioning at KCI Manggarai,” Budi said separately in Jakarta on Thursday (April 30, 2026).
Those questioned include the Head of the Train Operation Control Center (KAI), train dispatchers (PPKA), and signal officers.
“First, the KAI control center head; second, the dispatcher; third, signal personnel; fourth, the Commuter Line driver; fifth, the Argo Bromo Anggrek driver; sixth, the assistant driver of Argo Bromo Anggrek; and seventh, the controller,” he explained.
Investigators emphasized that the witness examination process is ongoing and urged the public to remain patient while awaiting further developments.
“We are confident that Jakarta Metropolitan Police will handle this case in a procedural, professional, and accountable manner. We will continue to provide updates,” added the former Malang City Police Chief. (dan)
