INDOPOSCO.ID – Polda Metro Jaya has pledged to conduct a thorough investigation into the acid attack targeting Andrie Yunus.
Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, said in a statement from Jakarta on Sunday (March 15, 2026) that investigators are working intensively in the field.
“The police’s main focus is to identify and apprehend the perpetrators behind this criminal act that harms democracy, using a ‘scientific crime investigation’ approach,” he said.
Budi added that Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri has also given special attention to ensure the acid attack against the activist becomes a top priority. The team is conducting a detailed analysis based on criminal science.
“Let’s give space for the joint task force from Central Jakarta Metro Police and the Criminal Investigation Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya to work quickly to uncover and apprehend the suspects,” he said.
Polda Metro Jaya has set up a special reporting post for incidents involving activist harassment, located in the lobby of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) at Polda Metro Jaya.
In addition to in-person services, the police have established a fast-track reporting line through Call Center 110 and a hotline at 0812-8559-9191, which the public can access at any time.
Budi also called on the public to actively provide information without hesitation. Authorities guarantee the security and confidentiality of anyone who contributes to the case investigation.
“To all witnesses who heard, saw, know, or directly experienced this incident, we ask for your help in providing information to us,” he said.
Polda Metro Jaya assured full protection and safety for all witnesses assisting the investigation and reaffirmed its commitment to act professionally, proportionally, and accountably in every stage of the case.
The handling of this case underscores the police’s role in protecting all citizens, including activists, while ensuring public order and legal compliance.
Jenderal Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that President Prabowo Subianto ordered a thorough investigation into the suspected acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus, to be carried out professionally, transparently, and using scientific investigative methods.
“Regarding the developments in the activist’s acid attack case, I have received direct orders from the President to conduct a thorough investigation professionally and transparently,” Sigit said while inspecting Gubeng Station in Surabaya on Sunday.
He explained that the investigation is using a “scientific crime investigation” approach to ensure every stage of case handling is objective and evidence-based.
Furthermore, the police are collecting various information related to the incident, which will be analyzed step by step.
