INDOPOSCO.ID – Indonesian women’s doubles pair Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti claimed their first title as a newly formed partnership after winning the Thailand Masters 2026 at Nimibutr Stadium, Pathumwan, Thailand, on Sunday (Feb. 1, 2026).
Tiwi/Fadia defeated world No. 8 Chinese pair Li Yi Jing/Bao Li Jing in the final, winning 15-21, 21-15, 21-18.
The Indonesian duo dropped the opening game 15-21 but showed greater composure and solidity in the following two games.
They went into the mid-game interval of the second game with an 11-6 lead and later extended their advantage to 15-13, before closing out the game 21-15 with a six-point margin. The win forced a decider that proved to be far more intense.
In the third game, Tiwi/Fadia trailed several times early on but managed to take an 11-9 lead at the interval. Li/Bao briefly turned the tables to lead 15-14, but Tiwi/Fadia quickly leveled the score at 15-15. Regaining the lead at 16-15, the Indonesian pair maintained their momentum to seal the match 21-18 after one hour and 30 minutes of play.
“Alhamdulillah, I’m very happy to win the title, especially with a new partner and being able to perform well here. This will be valuable capital for us in the upcoming tournaments,” Tiwi said in an official statement released by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Fadia expressed her delight at winning the title, marking her second Thailand Masters crown after last year’s victory when she partnered Lanny Tria Mayasari.
“We dedicate this title to Coach Karel, Coach Nitya, and the women’s doubles team at the PBSI national training center. As a completely new pair, we hope this result can motivate our teammates to be more confident going forward,” Fadia said.
“I’m really happy to win the Thailand Masters again—last year with Lanny and this year with Tiwi. Alhamdulillah, I’ve continued to earn the trust of the coaches and my partner, so I try to always give my best,” she added, as quoted by Antara.
The Thailand Masters was the second tournament Tiwi/Fadia competed in following their debut at the Indonesia Masters, where they were eliminated in the quarterfinals after losing to Japan’s Arisa Igarashi/Miyu Takahashi 21-16, 11-21, 14-21. (aro)
