INDOPOSCO.ID – Indonesia’s Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has disclosed the alleged role of a new suspect in the corruption investigation concerning the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program for the 2025–2026 period. The suspect, Glory Harimas Sihombing (GHS), is accused of abusing his authority in relation to the project.
Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, Director of Investigation at the AGO’s Office of Special Crimes (Jampidsus), said Sihombing’s alleged involvement began when he was tasked with finding partners for the MBG program following instructions from former National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Head Dadan Hindayana.
“Mr. GHS is a private-sector individual who was asked by suspect DH (Dadan Hindayana), in his capacity as Head of the National Nutrition Agency, to identify partners for the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Program,” Syarief said in Jakarta on Friday (June 19, 2026).
According to investigators, after Dadan Hindayana granted access to MBG kitchen locations through a foundation owned by Sihombing, the foundation subsequently offered those locations to prospective partners.
“After Mr. GHS’s foundation obtained the kitchen locations, it sold the SPBG kitchen sites to parties interested in establishing kitchens in those designated areas,” Syarief said.
Investigators also alleged that Sihombing was given broad access to communicate with verification teams appointed by Dadan Hindayana regarding MBG kitchen operations.
“As a result, Mr. GHS was able to arrange for the rollback of SPPG facilities under his foundation, restoring their previous status,” Syarief explained.
The new suspect has been detained for 20 days at the Salemba Detention Center branch of the Attorney General’s Office for further investigation.
Sihombing has been charged under multiple provisions, including Article 12(a), 12(b), and 12(e) of Law No. 31/1999 on the Eradication of Corruption, as amended by Law No. 20/2001, as well as Article 20(a) or 20(c) of Law No. 1/2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP). (dan)
