INDOPOSCO.ID – Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has apprehended Tulungagung Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) member Jatmiko in a sting operation (OTT) in East Java on Friday (April 10, 2026). A total of 18 individuals were detained in the covert operation.
Jatmiko is the younger brother of Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo, who was also arrested during the operation in Tulungagung, East Java.
“That’s correct (the regent’s brother),” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed to reporters in Jakarta on Saturday (April 11, 2026).
He explained that the first group, which included the Tulungagung regent, arrived earlier in the morning at the KPK’s Red and White Building, followed by a second group later in the day bringing in several more individuals.
“In the second phase, the team brought in 11 people, and in the third phase, one person,” Budi said.
The KPK is currently conducting intensive questioning of those detained in the Tulungagung operation. Investigators suspect the case involving Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo is linked to alleged extortion.
KPK Deputy Chair Fitroh Rohcahyanto had earlier confirmed the operation, though he did not provide details about the case involving those arrested.
“That’s correct (OTT in Tulungagung),” Fitroh said separately on Friday (April 10, 2026).
The regional head was also among those detained in the operation. “Yes (the Tulungagung regent was detained),” he added. (dan)
