INDOPOSCO.ID – Former Vice President Try Sutrisno passed away at the age of 90 on Monday morning (March 2, 2026).
The news was confirmed by the head of Rumah Sakit Pusat Angkatan Darat Gatot Soebroto, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Albertus Budi Sulistya.
“That is correct,” Albertus told reporters on Monday.
The retired Indonesian Army general, who was born on November 15, 1935, died at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto at approximately 6:58 a.m. Western Indonesia Time.
According to available information, the former Army Chief of Staff (1986–1988) and Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces (1988–1993) passed away at the military hospital earlier that morning.
His body is scheduled to be taken to the family residence at Jalan Purwakarta No. 6, Menteng, Central Jakarta, where he will lie in state. (nas)
