INDOPOSCO.ID – The Chinese government has issued a strong condemnation of what it described as acts of violence carried out by the United States against Venezuela and its President, Nicolas Maduro. The statement was delivered by a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday (Jan. 3, 2026).
China said it was shocked by the open use of force by the United States against a sovereign nation and its head of state.
Beijing stressed that such actions are unacceptable and cannot be justified within the framework of international relations.
Furthermore, China urged the United States to respect international law and to immediately cease all forms of violations against the sovereignty and security of other countries.
Beijing also underscored the importance of adhering to the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, as reported by Sputnik-OANA via Antara.
According to China, Washington’s hegemonic actions constitute a serious breach of international law, undermine Venezuela’s sovereignty, and pose a potential threat to stability, peace, and security in the Latin American region. (aro)
