INDOPOSCO.ID – A viral video purportedly featuring Amien Rais has sparked public scrutiny—not only for its controversial content, but also for its unusual delivery style.
Political communication analyst Hendri Satrio, widely known as Hensa, openly expressed doubts about the video’s authenticity. He said something felt off from the moment he first watched it.
“I just watched a video resembling Mr. Amien Rais. I watched it again and again, and it still feels strange,” Hensa said, as quoted from his personal TikTok account on Sunday (May 3, 2026).
According to Hensa, the statements made in the video do not reflect the character of a senior national figure. He pointed to a communication style he described as filled with baseless accusations and even bordering on harsh.
“Is this really Amien Rais—the reform figure, a senior statesman? How could he speak with such unfounded allegations?” he questioned.
The video drew attention for allegations involving President Prabowo Subianto and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. However, Hensa noted that the direction of the message was unclear—whether it was aimed at the president or the cabinet secretary.
He emphasized that, as a senior figure, Amien Rais should deliver criticism more constructively and set an example in public communication.
“As a senior national figure, I strongly believe Mr. Amien Rais would not act this way. He would offer positive input and set a good example,” Hensa said.
Hensa also raised the possibility of technological manipulation, suggesting the video could involve artificial intelligence, which is increasingly difficult to distinguish from authentic content.
“If this is not AI-generated, I believe Mr. Amien Rais would apologize to avoid public unrest,” he added.
He warned against the misuse of technology to create provocative content that could inflame public tensions—especially as many people are already facing economic pressures.
“We’re all struggling to make a living. Don’t add to it with wild issues like this,” said the founder of survey institute KedaiKOPI.
On the other hand, Hensa praised Teddy Indra Wijaya for choosing not to respond to the video. In his view, such restraint reflects maturity when dealing with unverified issues.
“He’s right not to react or issue any response, because doing so would only prolong the commotion,” Hensa stated.
He argued that excessive reactions could unnecessarily extend the controversy.
“Amien Rais is a national figure, and typically at his level, the officials being criticized would react and engage in noisy debates,” said the author.
“That’s why I say it’s right not to respond. I appreciate that, because as a public official, one should know what deserves a response and what does not,” he concluded.
The video, titled “Keep the Palace Away from Moral Scandal,” ran for approximately eight minutes and initially gained significant public attention due to its remarks about the alleged relationship between President Prabowo Subianto and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
However, its digital footprint proved short-lived. As of 12:18 PM WIB, the video was no longer available on the YouTube channel, raising further questions about why the widely discussed content was removed. (her)
