INDOPOSCO.ID – President Prabowo Subianto conducted an on-site inspection of the installation of a Bailey, or emergency, bridge in Teupin Mane. The temporary structure is being built to replace the main bridge that collapsed after a flash flood in Juli District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh, on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 7, 2025).
The inspection marked the first agenda in the President’s working visit to Aceh Province.
Upon arrival, President Prabowo received a briefing from Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo regarding the progress of the Bailey bridge construction. He then proceeded to observe the steel components being assembled by personnel of the Indonesian Army.
Throughout the visit, President Prabowo was accompanied by Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf and Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo.
Other officials present included Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander Gen. Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak.
The Bailey bridge serves as an alternative route linking Bireuen and Takengon in Central Aceh, after the main access route in Juli District was cut off.
At the banks of the Teupin Mane River, where the water flow remained strong, President Prabowo briefly gave direct instructions to the Public Works Minister. He later took time to greet local residents and evacuees affected by the flash floods and landslides who had gathered to welcome him.
“This is one of the Bailey bridges that continues to be worked on. We hope it can be opened within a week. From here, three more bridges will also be built heading toward Bener Meriah and Takengon,” President Prabowo said after reviewing the assembly process in Teupin Mane, as reported by Antara.
Bireuen is among the areas most severely impacted by the flash floods on November 25, 2025. Numerous homes—especially in Juli District—along with roads and bridges were heavily damaged or destroyed. Many residents whose homes were swept away are now staying in temporary shelters across several safe points.
After inspecting the emergency bridge project, President Prabowo continued his visit by checking conditions at the evacuation center in Gampong Pante Baro, located not far from the Teupin Mane bridge site. (aro)
