INDOPOSCO.ID – President Prabowo Subianto jokingly hinted at a possible cabinet reshuffle involving Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan after the minister mistakenly identified the name of a village during a shrimp harvest event in Kebumen, Central Java, on Saturday (May 23, 2026).
The moment occurred as Prabowo acknowledged members of the Red and White Cabinet attending the event and expressed gratitude for the invitation.
“So thank you for inviting me here, to Karangduwur Village,” Prabowo said in his remarks, as broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel.
Local residents attending the event immediately corrected the President’s statement. One man seated in the front row even approached the podium to clarify the village’s actual name.
“Come here, come here,” Prabowo said, inviting the man forward.
“Tegalretno Village, Petanahan District,” the man responded.
Hearing the correction, Prabowo turned toward Zulkifli Hasan and quipped about reshuffling the cabinet over the mix-up, drawing laughter and easing the atmosphere at the gathering.
“Oh dear, the coordinating minister got it wrong. Should he be reshuffled?” Prabowo asked the crowd.
The audience responded in unison, saying no.
“No? Well, luckily the people still care about you. Thank you. My apologies,” the former defense minister added.
Earlier that day, Prabowo attended a mass shrimp harvest and inspected post-harvest sorting activities at the Kebumen Area-Based Shrimp Farming (BUBK) site in Central Java.
He also highlighted Indonesia’s strong potential to become the world’s leading shrimp producer.
“This sector is very promising. I was informed that one hectare can produce up to 40 tons. That’s extraordinary — 40 tons — and the price is very good, around Rp70,000 per kilogram. That means one ton is worth Rp70 million,” Prabowo said. (dan)
