INDOPOSCO.ID – President Prabowo Subianto, speaking from the main stage of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday (22/1/2026) afternoon local time, reaffirmed Indonesia’s firm decision to pursue peace and global stability rather than chaos.
The political stance was conveyed by President Prabowo before an audience of world leaders, renowned global economists, international investors, business leaders, academics, and practitioners, all gathered at the Congress Hall to attend his special address.
“If you take one thing away from my speech today, let this be the message: Indonesia chooses peace over chaos,” President Prabowo said.
“We want to be a friend to all, an enemy to none. A thousand friends are too few for us, and even one enemy is too many,” he added.
President Prabowo emphasized that this principle forms the foundation of Indonesia’s foreign policy direction, reflecting the nation’s commitment to friendship, responsibility, peace, stability, and sustainability.
“We want to be good neighbors, good and responsible global citizens, protecting the environment and preserving nature. We must not destroy nature. We must live in harmony with it and become part of a hopeful future,” the President stated.
He further noted that such commitment is built upon a solid foundation of governance, namely sound and credible public policies.
“Hope must be grounded in credibility, healthy public policy governance, and sustainable and equitable growth,” he said.
Toward the conclusion of his speech, President Prabowo called on world leaders and global stakeholders to jointly build a peaceful and inclusive future.
“Let us build the world we want to live in together. Let us continue the journey to improve the quality of life for all, living in peace, freedom, friendship, tolerance, coexistence, and cooperation for all races, all ethnicities, and all religions,” the President said.
President Prabowo delivered his special address at the Congress Hall, the main venue of the World Economic Forum 2026.
On the same stage, other world leaders also delivered special speeches, including U.S. President Donald J. Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.
At the Davos forum, President Prabowo outlined his vision, the government’s achievements, and his economic strategy—referred to by some observers as “Prabowonomics.”
A number of ministers and senior officials were also present at the Congress Hall to listen to the President’s address, including Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Investment and Downstream Industries/CEO of Danantara Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, and Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid, as reported by Antara.
Also in attendance were Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Djiwandono, Deputy Chair of House Commission I Budisatrio Djiwandono, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Novyan Bakrie, and Chairman of Kadin’s Advisory Council Arsjad Rasjid. (aro)
