INDOPOSCO.ID – President Prabowo Subianto made good on his promise to revisit residents affected by the devastating flash floods in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, on Friday (Dec. 12, 2025).
“Thank you, I appreciate the warm welcome today. I came here as I promised,” the President said, as monitored via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube livestream from Jakarta on Friday (Dec. 12, 2025).
Prabowo noted that the government has been working intensively to accelerate disaster response efforts. During his first visit to Aceh after the disaster, he recalled that road access to Tamiang had been cut off; however, the area is now reachable for aid distribution.
“I’ve seen the situation, and God willing, we will work together to restore conditions here,” he stated.
The President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continue assisting until recovery is complete. He also apologized if some areas had not yet received aid as expected.
“The government is going to help everyone. I apologize if there are still places we haven’t reached. We are working very hard,” Prabowo said.
During the visit, Prabowo was accompanied by National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Indonesian Military Commander Gen. Agus Subiyanto, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
After completing his state visits to Pakistan and Russia, President Prabowo and his ministerial delegation continued their trip to Medan.
In Medan, he is scheduled to inspect several areas affected by flash floods and landslides, and later lead a coordination meeting on disaster response across three Sumatra provinces: Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
The President’s aircraft landed at Kualanamu International Airport at around 2 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. On the flight from Moscow, he was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Prabowo’s visit included a stop at the evacuation post near the Tamiang River Bridge. From there, he was set to continue to Central Aceh, according to Antara.
He is scheduled to visit the Takengon evacuation post, followed by the shelter at SMP 2 Wih Pesam in Bener Meriah District, Aceh. (aro)
