INDOPOSCO.ID – State-owned shipping operator PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) projects that this year’s post-Eid return travel will peak on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
“We estimate the return flow will reach its peak on April 2, 2026, with a projected 27,009 passengers,” Pelni Corporate Secretary Ditto Pappilanda said in Jakarta on Monday (March 23, 2026).
As of Monday, total ticket sales for the return period had reached 171,438, he added.
Pelni is preparing to accommodate the Idul Fitri return flow from March 23 to April 6, 2026, while ensuring optimal services for passengers.
The company has implemented anticipatory measures to support a smooth and comfortable homecoming program, including strengthened coordination with stakeholders, additional service personnel, and increased security staff.
Pelni also assured that all vessels are seaworthy to ensure safe and smooth journeys.
Passengers who have yet to secure tickets are urged to book through the company’s official channels to avoid running out of seats or purchasing from unauthorized sellers.
In addition, passengers are reminded to comply with onboard safety protocols and maintain cleanliness throughout.
“We prioritize passenger safety and comfort by upholding ‘safety first,’ ‘zero accident,’ and ‘service excellence,’” he said.
He added that ship crews are ready to assist passengers throughout the voyage.
Pelni reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining safe, comfortable, and reliable national sea transportation services during the 1447 Hijri Eid transport period, both for outbound and return travel.
Currently, the company operates 25 passenger vessels serving 483 routes and calling at 75 ports.
